Born in Mackay, Queensland, Teneal Attard had been playing for her state since 2001. Attard, a striker, made her Australian debut at the age of 19 in 2004. She was selected in her first Olympic team in 2008. The Hockeyroos finished fifth in their 2008 Beijing campaign.
